Anne and I just bought this car. It is our first MG TC. Many years ago I owned an MG TD, but this is the first TC. We purchased the car from a very nice gentleman in Connecticut. The first picture is just after the car was unloaded the day before yesterday. The second picture was taken today. We have only driven the car about 40 miles so far and have determined that we indeed do need a Tomkins Steering Kit. As far as I have been able to tell the car has never been fully restored. It has been maintained over the years, repainted, overhauled, etc. but never really restored. We plan to drive and enjoy the car for a while then perhaps fully restore it. Funny thing happened when I was buying this car, "over the phone". I have always liked Morgan's, mostly due to the leather strap over the hood. Silly I know, but we all have our quirks. I had decided to buy an MG TC however, because the MG TC was the first car I really ever fell in love with. I had always wanted one. I did enjoy my TD, but it was never a TC. After I had agreed to buy the car I was talking with the seller on the phone. I ask him a question about something under the hood. (OK it is supposed to be a bonnet) His reply really took me by surprise! He said; "Just a minute while I undo the STRAP." I thought STRAP, what STRAP? At this point I had not seen any pictures of the car and had agreed to buy it based upon his description alone, which had not included a strap over the hood. Well that clinched it for sure. I know the strap is not original on TC's, but this one has a racing history and the strap will stay. I like it.

I would like to thank all the members of the MG T-ABC list who were so very helpful before, during, and since I have bought this car. In particular I want to thank Steve Stierman, Richard Fritz, Gary Perser, and Jim Shade. I would also like to thank the very nice gentleman who sold me the car, Mr Ian Scott. I look forward to meeting many of you, and to driving MG TC 8192.
