The bolt size for the badge is 8-32 (UNC thread, #8 size, 32 threads per inch). A headless bolt should be screwed (but not tightened) into the badge with a nut and perhaps a lockwasher, then the nut should be tightened against the lockwasher, sandwiching it. You will then have a pair of studs protruding from the back of the badge that can be attached to a bracket as shown on our website. The reason that the badges were not supplied with bolts soldered to the back of the badge is so that it would make repackaging and shipping the badges much simpler, as well as allow people to choose the bolt length that suits them and allow easy attachment to wall plaques, desk sets, toilet bowl covers, etc.
