Re: TC gas tank from Moss

Thank you Chris, Antijam,Carl and Steve.. I forgot to say I am in Australia and no one makes TC tanks here so it will have to come from the UK or US. Thing is I will have to buy it sight unseen. Chris I googled Mick and Darren, a good price and I think you are happy with their quality? Thanks Antija...

Re: 16 inch front wheels on a TC

G`day Antijam and Steve, The comment by you boys re TCs not being set up for radials makes sense. Nor sure about my mate, but I think the next set of tyres on 2268 will be cross plies. Not too keen about bending the axle! Thank you both for the advice.

16 inch front wheels on a TC

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether the "toe in" with 16s should be the same as 19s. A friend`s TC with 16s actually had toe out(since rectified) and the outside of the tyres were scrubbing, I would have thought the inside edge would scrub out under those circumstances. The car is fitted with r...

Re: Mounting TC Front shocks on a TA

If you are using TC shocks on a TA, why not just change to TC spring plates then the TC links et all should line up. BTW TC shocks are easy to sort out with a through clean inside and modern seals inserted.

Re: Door hinge request

Hi Mark, Whats a PM ?? I don't want any money for it, happy to post it off, I think you may be in the US, am I right? Having said that if you have some spare bits for the slow running control that would be nice but not a problem if you don't.
Cheers John

Re: Door hinge request

I have one you can have Mark, but one half is a bit worn where the ball fits, the other half from a different car looks OK.
I am in Victoria, Australia. Where are you? Don't feel obliged to take it by the way!
Cheers

Re: TC sidescreens

I lost the driver`s side side curtain a couple of years ago, scrounged a frame locally, my son did a very good job of sewing up the fabric, and I made the "chrome" strips out of the stainless waist trim off a wrecked Peugeot 404. The right width but a bit flatter than the original but takes the TC f...

Re: TC front axle bump stop clearance

I recon every member has probably been in his or her garage checking the bump stop gap. For the record mine is pretty close to Duncans` 2 2/8 inch on the left side and 2 1/8 on the right side with the springs hanging. Ground measurement was 1/2 inch both sides. My springs have been greased if that m...

Re: TC Radiator hose leaks

Just a thought, but could the overflow pipe be blocked causing the radiator to build up a bit of pressure. I really owe that idea to Phil Cassie of TA fame who suggested that when we were chatting about Jeff`s problem a couple of days ago.
Hopefully it will be something simple.

Re: TC Radiator hose leaks

Jeff is the metal pipe OK ? Worth a check, I remember mine being very corroded so I bought a new one. Funny that the water spray out though, I wonder if the thermostat os working as it should, Easy to check, just boil it up in one of the wife`s cooking pots when she's not looking! Good luck John Coc...

Re: Crankshaft Pulley Oil Seal Replacement.

Is it possible to jiggle the oil seal in place after removing the timing cover, but leaving the pan or sump on? Incidentally I had to put a speedy sleeve over the pulley as it had worn a bit. Leaking again but have been putting it off! Bit lazy I guess!

Re: Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system

Hi again Craig, Just rec a pic of the Riley setup and quite different to the TA...rotten luck, and knowing Brit cars probably differed from model to model.Check the mesurement of those nipples again though, and if its 3/8 can send you a couple over for a try...cheap enough!

Re: Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system

Craig the Riley nipples are 3/8 BSP & the pipe is 5/32, attached via an olive.I may be able to scrounge up a couple of these via the Riley boys. 3/8 is usually the next size up from 5/16 so theres not a lot of difference.

Re: Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system

I wonder if they are the same as a 12/4 Riley, i had heaps of the lube fittings left over from a restoration of a Falcon, but I remember giving them to a Riley mate who is restoring a `36 Kestrel. He may have some surplus so I will have a chat whit him and see if they match your description. My frien...

Re: Fittings for TA centralized chassis lubrication system

Good morning Craig, from Vic Aust...I am tipping that the male fitting is a standard domestic plumbing fitting which is called a nipple in Australia .At a guess its 1/4 or 3/8 inch BSP (British Standard Pipe) thread, very available in Oz. I am pretty sure that US pipe thread is different than ours. ...
