Re: early XPAG oil-pump wanted

Hi Marv, I am still searching for a proper TC oil pump body, in fact 2 would be good. If you still have them may I ask how much you wish for them and what you reckon the shipping would cost? If you wish to contact me offline please send me a separate direct email so we can discuss. kind regards Chris

Re: Car Insurance

The other issue and a major variant on insurance is the true replacement value! Today it is imperative that these aging cars are valued correctly and therefore insured appropriately. Hagerty are excellent as they tell it as it is. Helped by written evaluations or proof of purchase cost, or similar s...

Re: Mount rubbers for fuel tank

Hi Simon, I'm a intrigued to know why this is so critical, especially when you cant see it! It seems quite logical it fits like the blue TC example above, like all 3 of my TC's. To me, I'd fit it so to make it work for you with a slight curve on the top rubber to prevent any water settlement

Re: TD oil pump to TC conversation

Ok ta Butch. I hadnt appreciate there was a cast/space issue on a TD pump. I can seen from your photos that the 2nd TD pump appears to have a hole in the cap ... or does this show the cap upside down (the pressure relief end)? And finally to close my maddening desire to make the most of the parts I ...

Re: TD oil pump to TC conversation

... here's a few photos of the oil pump in question. I believe this is a TD one and the one that can/could be drilled on top to allow oval pipe TC fitting ... what do you reckon?

Re: TD oil pump to TC conversation

afraid not Tom ... I'll try once again to clarify ... I am sure it is a legitimate modification. I have 3 TC's, 2 with engines. One engine is an early TC Xpag engine the other is a Xpag factory replacement engine which looks to be a TD. It was all disassembled so parts are mixed up but the oil pump ...

Re: TD oil pump to TC conversation

thanks for the that Steve, however I'm not sure that has answered my question in how to modify the TD/TF pump so it does the same as a TC did originally? Clearly to do this a hole would have to be drilled I think on top of the pump to receive the external pipe to filter.

TD oil pump to TC conversation

Has anyone attempted or knows if and how a TD oil pump can be converted to be used on a TC engine?
That's to say it would then take the external top mounted oil pipe connection to the separate oil filter.

Re: Radiator top and bottom hose size

The cost of shipping heavy weighted parts across the water is prohibitive, so the offer from Tom as kind as it was isn't going happen ... unless he gave me them!
So, is there anyone in the UK, or perhaps Europe that has 1 or 2 radiators for sale please? Chris

Radiator top and bottom hose size

Hi, I wondered if anyone can please confirm what the size of top and bottom brass pipes are fitted to the radiator? Not the rubber but the brass external pipe sizes. Often these get replaced, damaged etc so wanted to make sure a radiator refit will be correctly assembled. thank you Chris

Re: MG TC radiator shell nose piece

ah, Steve there is nothing wrong with my radiator, but from what you have said is that my rad is actually a ... TD one. This all makes sense, especially as you have already stated the angle of water inlet is different ... this is what I see. So, I have wonderfully restored TD radiator for sale ... a...

Re: MG TC radiator shell nose piece

On a similar theme, I wondered if anyone knew if and what differences there are between a TD radiator and a TC one? Not the chrome part but just the core, brass and frame. :? I ask because after re-coring one of my radiators for TC4245, then trying to fit it to the chrome outer I see that the rad ca...

early XPAG oil-pump wanted

I have an excellent later TD oil pump (without top opening for brass/copper pipe to filter) but would willingly swap or perhaps purchase a genuine TC or early TD pump. Probably best if this was sourced within UK due to excessive shipping costs Chris (Notts, J28 M1)
