t-series grill shell identification

I understand that the hole for the handcrank is fully opened at the bottom on TC's. I've been told that TD's have a partially opened handcrank hole. I have seen TC's & TD's with fully closed circular handcrank holes. does anyone know the correctness of these 3 different grill shells?

TC steering wheel installation

I removed steering wheel from my TC while having my dashboard restored. ( Craig Seabrook from the Whitworth Shop did a fantastic dashboard restoration. ) Anyway the steering wheel came off relatively easy. But I am having problems getting it back on. It slides on the column about an inch or so, but ...

Re: Wanted: TC Water Outlet

Steve
I have a TC water outlet which someone had modified by brazing on a heater hose drain tap. The tap could be cut off and the hole brazed or welded closed. Would send a pic but don't know how.

Re: xpag cam timing

Thanks for input Ken. my situation is a little different in that the head is on the block. Due to some research I THINK I have it figured out. I can find true TDC using a piston stop device that fits in spark plug hole. And use a dial indicator on #1 valve lifters to determine cam timing. Read about...

Re: xpag cam timing

Looks like degree wheel is way to go. It will will find true TDC, and confirm intake opening(5* BTDC). and exhaust closing(5*ATDC)
on way to buy degree wheel.

Re: xpag cam timing

Thanks, I do have manual with picture. Problem is that when I line up the links and "T"'s with 13 links on left side & 15 links on right side, they are not in same relative position as in picture. I just wonder if that makes no difference as long as the links line up, or should the links & "T"s be i...

I temporarily installed timing chain cover and crank pulley and rotated crank to TDC. Can someone please enlighten me on how to tell when cam is in proper position. keyway on crank...

Re: TC identification

Frantz your TA appears to be fitted with a TC style air filter. I believe TA's had air filters with horizontal rather than vertical canisters. maybe someone on this thread will confirm or correct this assessment. oil filter appears to be correct period type. all MG accessories will correctly fit to ...

Re: TC identification

Hello Frantz Your engine replacement tag says XPJMI, which is the same engine currently in my TC. It is a not a MG engine, although it is basically the same. It is a Morris-Wolseley engine. It is made from the same block casting as the XPAG MG engines. The XPJMI engines were 1140cc, while the XPAG e...

So I'm thinking that although any TD engine can be made to work in a TC, a EARLY TD engine would be an ideal replacement.

Re: TD engine

Steve I've been told that All TD blocks have 3 starter holes so either starter can be used on a TD block. I'm wondering if a early TD block is the same as a TC block. I.E. oblong water holes, 7 1/4 inch flywheel, engine #location, etc. if I saw 2 bare blocks. How would tell which one was TC and whic...
