Re: TA Wiper Motor

In the past I`ve found that with early type motors, wear in the armature bearings are suficient to jam it and prevent rotation. I assume you`ve "spun" it manually to ensure it`s free?

Re: Petrol tank sender float

Thanks Roger. All done thanks to WD40 and wiggling the arm. Aluminium had oxodized jamming the arm. Possibly occured during previous owners long term lay-up.

Re: Car Insurance

Hi Steve, The existing brokers are specialists however I went to another and got an identical deal for a fraction over £71. You can guess who my other cars will be with on renewal. Probably my families as well. (10 classics in total)

Car Insurance

Car insurance. Is this a rip off? I`ve just been offerred the opportunity to renew a MGTF policy which has a premium of just over £61 but with an "Arrangement fee" of £49plus. Is this really justified. They claim that membership of various car clubs is of benefit. I wonder if clubs have ever conside...

Taps and dies

What are the recommendations when it comes to accumalating taps and dies for are cars certainly for the important and most needed sizes . With new sets basically being all metric and even then manufactured in China with the resulting in my opinion poor quality.

Re: Mount rubbers for fuel tank

Welcome Simon. Wish my restoration was as advanced. Haven`t even started. Out of curiosity over the years I bet you`ve sat in the car wondering what it will be like to actually drive what will be your creation.

Re: To spray or not to spray

I agree, the above comments have gone through my mind and actually there`s the conundrum and hence the question. I suppose it`s all down to a competitive price giving the buyer an incentive and choice. Without "attacking" the existing paintwork it`s difficult for me to ascertain whether it`s the ori...

To spray or not to spray

To spray or not to spray that is the question. I`ve an original TF1250 which runs very well and which mechanically has had a good deal of work done prior to and during my ownership. This includes an obvious engine rebuild of the original unit, a reconditioned gearbox and reupholstering and respectab...

My contribution is grease attracts dust and grit and surely will only add to spring wear?

Re: Whose TC

Fully agree Steve. Have made contact with a MG owner who I hope may help. I fully agree but one never knows and if nothing else it will diswade the culprit from exploiting the MG world. On the other hand if and it`s a big IF it is genuine then it will be a shame not to see the car if not in mine but...

Re: Whose TC

The fact that the email eminates from a Maxwell Criddle in Corvallis who supposedly is selling for a customer and although he has supplied a phone number at $3000 seems suspiciously cheap. I`ve yet to request more photos etc. and although interested I would be quite happy for a genuine enthusiast to...

Re: Whose TC

I dont suppose there is someone in the Corvallis 97330 Oregon, USA area that could check the car out? I`m suspicious that the car may be part of a scam and not all it`s supposed to be.
