Loss of spark
Drive it day threw up a problem which I`ve 2 weeks to resolve before a planned tour of South and wet Ireland. So the problem is the loss of spark. The story so far. After the Isle of Man national I started to have a back fire both through the exhaust and the carbs. With a "challenging" tour shortly ...

TF1500. twin 1 1/2 sus just changed cork gaskets. Gunson set on rear carb. with obviously engine warm and running. Move it to front carb engine stops. Link between the two obviously disconnected. Am I now to rich or to lean on front carb please?

Re: Spot Lights
I agree Ray and inline fusing is happening at the moment . Finding shorts not the easiest of tasks without an insulation tester as I`m sure you are well aware. As there are two spots first will isolate and fuse each individually -that I think the quickest method.

Spot Lights
I`ve two 45W spot lights fitted to my TF1500 ( they were there on purchase of the car). I`ve two questions. When on, even with engine running, they show a maximum discharge on the ammeter. By implication I`ve a short in the circuit. Whist it blew a 25amp fuse the 35amp survived strangely. So questio...

Re: Su Super dry kits
To John and JonnyP. Looking at the EBay listing etc for the Danbury Hydraulics it shows no listing for the TF1500 -1 1/2 SUs Vitron Kits so have contacted them direct. However had a long conversation with Burlin. They made the following comments which have been very helpful. 1) Cars with traditional...

Re: Su Super dry kits
Thank you John. An interesting insight into your experience. It`s a problem with the carbs leaking over the exhaust making fire an ever present possibility. Obviously I need to sort it before a catastrophic failure. Perhaps I`ll try fitting one carb with vitron and one with super dry as an experimen...

Su Super dry kits
With summer tours on the horizon and my TF1500 carbs "weeping" after only just over 5000 miles since they were rebuilt am looking to rebuild with the new supposed "super dry" kits. Anyone any experience with them please? Are you pleased and do they actually work? Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Safety catches
Thanks Mick. Did see those. Will have to invest and check out. Wasn`t sure whether they`d lock in place or perhaps vibrate open.

Re: Safety catches
Thanks Steve. I had no problems since the rebuild until an "episode" last summer ( My fault -don`t ask) and after sorting now have concern over it fitting neatly on the second notch. So as a precaution think I`ll fit something like your suggestion.

Rear view mirrors.
Frustrated by the high cost of mirrors to fit on my windscreen and as the vehicles are frequently used in Europe as well as on motorways etc. in the UK I decided to explore other possibilities with the following result. I order to test I purchased two mirrors from Bowers (https://www.bowerspartsonli...

Travelling in the EU from 2025
For those of you who like me like to travel to Europe in their cars I have today received the following notification regarding visas required in Europe. ADMITEDLY this doesn`t apply until 2025 but for me early notification of changes and requirements is helpful. There has been some publicity about p...

Re: Parts needed for TC 7801
Reference my previous suggestion regarding using motorcycle units attached are a couple of pictures indicating the results. My decision was taken both as the high cost of re-silvering and its availability anyway. As stated the replacement has the advantage of a driving light and fits neatly inside t...
