Re: QUESTION FOR ANYONE WITH A MARSHALL SUPERCHARGER

That is the same problem I am having. How does one "clamp" the outer layer of the starter cable since there is no more triangle hanging of the first SU? I "tywrapped" it to the steering tube, and that seems to work, but is there a better way?

petrol tank filler neck

I am the care taker of TC 5061 since 1969. The previous owner had a TA in parts and therefore I detected a few TA parts on this TC. I recently lost my fuel tank cap (pricey) and found out that the hinge pin that this cap is connected to suppose to be a split pin on TC's. On this TC it has a narrow l...

Re: Lowering TC?

I made aluminum blocks on my front springs therefore lowering it by 1 "
It appears to corner a lot better and the look is also good (but that is just my opinion)
I did not notice any negative chance.

carbon spark plug wires

I need to get my blown TC to a garage with a "rolling road" to set it up properly. They asked me to change the copper core spark plug wires to carbon core wires as to not create problem with there electronic equipment. How does one mount carbon core sparkplug wires into the distribution cap? The sam...

Octane #

I am about to install a M62 blower on TC5061. Could any of you advise me on what number of octane in the gasoline I should use? Is it the higher # the better? :) Should I avoid gasoline with ethanol. (If possible)?

Thanks in advance,

Re: LED indicators

Hurray!! I've got all my LED's blinking now on the indicator lights. The trouble was the special (positive ground) electronic flasher unit I special ordered from the UK. I connected a different (ordinairy) flasher unit together with a 6 Ohm load resistor and >>> Bingo!! Thanks for all the advice. Wh...

Re: Bishop Steering Box

I am using John Deere "Corn oil" in my steering box. It is a very runny grease that is thick enough to not leak out of anywhere and runny enough to act like an heavy duty oil. An excellent invention from John Deere.

LED indicators

Dare I raise the question? For safety and electricity use reasons I went all LED on my TC. Purchased the LED circuit boards that fits nicely into the D shaped rear lights. What a difference! People can actually see me now from the back... Then I got LED light "bulbes" for the side lights. They are w...

Re: Brooklands screens

I drove my TC since 1969 with the brooklands mounted to the cowl. I have no problem looking trough 2 pieces of glass when the windscreen is up (seldom happens). The only time that happens is when my better half joins me for a ride on colder days.

slushing compound

After I put most of my TC back together and put a gallon of gasoline in my nicely painted petrol tank, I was greeted by a heavy gas smell in the garage this morning. Turned out that there was a very slow drip from under the side panel. You could see it coming trough the paint as soon as you wiped it...

Re: scratching my head

an update: The yellow wire (from the control box) and the white wire from the ignition contact switch managed to touch each other at the ignition light behind the dash... Hence, 12V straight from contact switch to D contact on the control box and the generator. Thanks for all your help and suggestio...

Re: scratching my head

I am one step closer but still in the wild electrical woods of the TC. I tried another regulator, same thing. then I removed the V-belt from the generator and when the contact is switched on, the generator is turning like an electrical motor?? This explains why the amp meter goes full discharge sinc...

scratching my head

Hi Group, I am in later stages of rebuilding my TC. After I put the new wiring harness in everything seems to work like it should be except..... When I turn on the ignition key, the dial from the Amp meter goes to the end of the scale discharging. I triple checked all my connections, and did not see...

Gear oil

I am having a hard time finding gear oil for my TC locally. Alberta is oil & gas country but just ordinary SAE140 as is required for our gearbox, differential and steering box is next to impossible to find nowadays. Shops do have 85/140 gear oil but I am not sure if that could be used in our aging g...

colour of the inside of battery box

I am reading that according to the Australian Queensland MG car club the inside of the battery box was originally shiny black!? As well as the underside of the battery cover and the underside of the toolbox covers. This is all new to me since I always thought they suppose to be the body colour for t...

wood for door frames

I purchased brand new wood for the frame of the 2 doors of a TC. As it turned out I did not need them as my door frames were still perfect but needed some minor shaping to the contour of the tub. The pair of door frames are for sale for ½ of the new price. Josh de Zwart Calgary, Alberta e-mail me at...

floorboard supports

I see in the "fromtheframeup" catalogue that there are floorboard supports (on the rear side) available. Is this an original item? I never had them but if those supports were there from the factory I would like to make them. Anybody knows if these are original? and if so, what are the dimensions of ...
