Yes, a couple of rods to secure a batten over the battery. Not sure waht was original, but this works.

Re: Bishops cam oil level
I fitted this small brass flip-top header tank which ensures the steering box is always lubricated; filled with transoil 140. I bought the tank from John James (former TTT2 editor) years years ago.

Re: Heat soak/Vapour lock - advice please
Jonny, I’m pleased to hear this cheap and simple spark plug test has identified an ignition fault, and nothing to do with fuel. My engine would stop, usually in slow/stationary traffic, and more likely on a warm/hot day. There was never any sign of engine overheating (my car is also black). The plug...

Re: Heat soak/Vapour lock - advice please
Vapour lock may not be the problem if “pulling the choke does not help at all”? My TC had similar symptoms, finally diagnosed as a faulty regulator cooking the coil. Paul Ireland concludes that “ethanol does not appear to make petrol more volatile”, but modern fuel is probably more volatile than it ...

Re: Heat soak/Vapour lock - advice please
It could be a failing ignition, perhaps the coil. I fitted an in line spark plug tester to one HT lead to check for a spark when the engine fails to start. I left this in place until sure of the result. With regard to vapour lock, ceramic coating the exhaust manifold will help reduce the engine bay ...

I hope you've finally got it sorted. My experience of similar symptoms may be of interest (article in the MG Octagon Bulletin)

Re: Ignition coil heating up
A faulty voltage regulator was the cause of failing coils on my early TC, with very similar symptoms (several coils over several years, including Remax). Its been fine since electronic conversion of the RF91 regulator.

Re: Dash Electrical Sockets
Dashboard power sockets: factory photos show TB and early TCs have the black socket on the right. Mid to late TCs have the black socket on the left. I can’t remember the source of this info, possibly Craig Seabrook

I'm trying to reclaim the original registration number for TC0999 from the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) in UK
In this context, does anyone have a photo of the large bonnet bulge on another police TC?

I used this UK company to convert a RF91 regulator to solid state: http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com/ New replica electronic RF95 regulators are available from this and other suppliers, including FTFU: https://fromtheframeup.com/products/el424-rf952-regulator-solid-state?_pos=7&_sid=3cbd6b97...

1946 police TC bulkhead - TC0999. It's my understanding that each police force specified their requirements, and some chose standard TCs with no modifications.

Re: Where to mount a modified reservoir for brake master cylinder
Looks like the MC is from C&C Parts in the Netherlands, which makes high quality brake parts for T types; expensive but the best IMO
