Steve, With a 12 litre v8 using 1914 carburetor technology it sucks petrol faster than your MGC with triple sidedraft Webers that is running rich

Re: Giving it a go again

If you are making a driver (as opposed to original specs) you do not need hinges. I needed more leg room so I took out the jack handle (behind the seat) and made new seat cushions. I just used a piece of plywood and foam for the backrest- spray glued the foam to the wood, then cut out and stuffed in...

MG spies

Just read a book "Spies Beneath Berlin" describing how the British tunneled under Berlin to tap Soviet telephone cables. They had also tunneled to tap Soviet cables in Vienna. One of the leaders had a taste for sports cars

Re: Clutch Cork

I would hesitate to use tapered corks, might they not come out? You can get an inexpensive wine bottle corker from home wine making shops. Boil the corks, the corker compresses the cork, then a plunger pushes the cork into the wine bottle (or clutch plate). The cork will expand on both sides of the ...

Re: Replacing standard TC seats with bucket seats

I am only 6'2" but I recognize the problem. My solution was to make a new seat backrest. 1/2 inch plywood cut to pattern of old backrest. 1x1 hardwood reinforcer glued to top front of backrest (also gives finished seat a better shape) Butt cutout on each side at the bottom of the backrest plywood wi...

Re: MGTC tires

You may want to check out Lucas Classic Tires ( https://www.lucasclassictires.com ). They have the 400x19 Blockley for $171 + shipping. It will last you another 10 t 20 years. How long tires last depends on driving. I have worn out Blockleys in 3 years ( maybe 8000 miles). But I drive the TC pretty...

Re: My single carburetter TC

Are you not worried that you have ruined the fuel economy of your car? With so much more power you may also attract the attention of the local police. The factory must have stuck that carb shut for a reason. :)

have fun speeding

Re: Lifter Problem

Until I saw the cam, I was considering putting it all together with fresh oil and driving on my trip next weekend. Now I'm not so sure that's a good idea.[/quote] I would think if you put it together (good lifter on the worn cam bit) it would go 500 miles. Not likely to be a catastrophic failure, ju...

Re: Floorboards

Last, how structural are the floorboards really? I know floorboards are help to reduce chassis flex / twist, but the securing screws on TCs are fairly small so I'm not sure they are doing all that much. Chassis flex in a TC? you must be joking, the chassis is solid as a rock. the doors pop op...

How about a Miata engine/trans combo?? Not that I have one for sale.

Joe Caswell in Thousand Oaks hand forges knives and swords. His work is incredible. The gorgeous patterns of the twisted bars, yet the blade is light and flexible. Unfortunately he is now moving to mass produced knives. no video, but look at this blade http://www.caswellstudios.com/SwordPages/BodyPa...
