Re: TC Fender piping/welting colours (or not)
I went to an auto paint store and they mixed a flexible match to my paint which I sprayed the piping with.

I don't think so...why not use gasket cement between the top and the case?

Re: TC sidelamps
The slot in the wing stay is where the bolt at the front of the lamp goes (it's slotted because the wings aren't all exactly the same so it gives you a bit of wiggle room). Under the fender you'll have the wing stay, a steel plate (Item #66 - http://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateInd...

Re: Still Struggling with the XPAG Cam Sprocket Installation
Paul, Either the cam sprocket is too thick or the distance from the end of the cam to the shoulder is too short. Are both the sprocket and the cam new? When the cam sprocket is all the way on against the shoulder is the cam sprocket and the crank sprocket aligned? If so, you could probably safely pu...

Re: TC Bonnet Needed
Tom, I have one but the bottom sections are a bit rusty and bent. It came with a TC I ended up making my vintage racer (lookalike) and I found an already louvered bonnet to use instead. Not sure how to package it up if you want it though. I'll pull it out later and take photos...stored in the attic ...

Re: New Moss Top
Yes, sure does. I thought they all did. The pulley is flat, wider than the belt and rides on the back of the belt to keep the belt tight.

This is an excellent primer: http://www.mg-tabc.org/library/Buell-TC ... 3rd-ed.pdf
Interestingly enough I had to do a web-search for it...I couldn't find it here on the site although it has a TABC url (I think that's what it's called).

It's an Eaton M45 (similar to the Moss setup). I bought it from Terry Pettigard (SP?) after Moss stopped selling their original blower setup.

Re: New Moss Top
Is the where the tape was up near the top? Other than the idea that it's not perfect it doesn't look bad and the distortion thru those windows is bad anyway.

No idea...have never had tape residue on mine. I would have thought Goofoff was safe. What happened?

Re: TB steering
I suggest #2...change the steering. I doubt you'll find a Datsun setup any longer so go for the VW. The VW box will be new, installation can be done in a day and you'll love the way your car steers afterward. The best part about the whole thing is although people say "Oh, keep it original", 95% of t...

With your compression I doubt seriously you have a valve problem...concur with Steve irt timing. At the temp you're running the timing sounds severely retarded.

Re: Hub to half shaft weld broken
The bronze bushing in the rear end that the axle slides through before it enters the hub is there more for oil control than axle support...quite often these are worn to nothing before its noticed they're worn. New axles and hubs with clean brake linings should be plenty to let you finish the trip. h...
