As others replied, rubber goes to the bottom. Here is a photo from TC0273; the vertical rubber strips had never been removed.

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits
Perhaps my research skills have slipped Duncan, but I can find no reference as to different green interior colors in either of Clausager's books "The Original MG T Series, 1989, long by crossword puzzle lap desk) and his updated publication Factory-Original MG T-Series, 2019. Would you be so good as...

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits
Duncan there's no questioning a green MG interior expert; I'm sure your time with him was special for many many years. While Mike Collingburn did extraordinary work for years, much of his detailed knowledge was sadly not passed on to his son James, who only occasionally now will do an MMM interior. ...

Re: satnav connection to a TC
I placed a black USB power outlet into the dash masking board, wired to the regulator. Hidden from view, easy to use. Suction cup device holder to the windscreen. I use my iPhone instead of a satnav unit.

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits
Hi Duncan -
Those green seats look like "faded to yellowish green" Connolly Celstra leather that was used by MG from 1932 through late TD production..
I have an original set in the shop now, TC1351, the same. Early TC seat design, seatback to the floor and the early seat bottoms.

Re: TC Master Cylinder Installation
It sounds like the long way around, but removing the clutch pedal turned out to be the fastest way for me when I installed the master cylinders in two TCs last month, I also couldn't figure out why things wouldn't slip into place.

Re: Best sources for TC interior kits
Duncan, I have parts of a green interior from a TC, chassis number in the TC10xxx range. The green color (seat base and one panel) are the exact same color green as I've found on early TCs, and all the way back to J2s. That's not to say a different color green could've been used, but I haven't seen ...

No, there is a different spec book for each car. The copies I have for TA and TB are incomplete. The TC one is missing some pages but not many. TC and TD are essentially complete.

Re: running in oil
Duncan, whatever grade of oil MG used in the TC engines, it was certain to be from Duckhams. William Morris and A. Duckham shared a long-standing business relationship friendship together. Morris had a contract with Duckham to provide all the oils and greases for the various Nuffield companies (Morr...

Re: TC EXU Hood query
I think it's very unlikely your TC left the factory without a hood. It would need to be a special order, something MG really wasn't set up to do at that time. Additionally being an EXU makes it more unlikely. For the USA market, Nuffield Exports ordered the cars for export from MG. They then sold th...

Re: Bulkhead identification/confirmation
The bulkhead looks to be late TC. Shallow flutes and location of holes are the identifying points. Obviously some holes added.
This would be from a TC with chassis number 5500 or later.

Re: rear oil seal/thrower
Most have their preferred way of solving the oil leaks. I'm a firm believer in using the Chevy 350 block split seal, putting forth the effort and detail for proper alignment and assembly. My engine does not leak oil, except for one pushrod tube. I built the engine in 2009, drive the TC pretty hard, ...

Re: Dashboard Wiring
No, as a live circuit needs to be connected to both ground and live. The cover is connected only to the ground (the base), and the live feed is the purple wire that feeds the bottom point of the light bulb.
