Re: Handbrake Cross Shaft on TC
What perhaps is needed is one from a scrap item so that an experiment on removing the outer tube, understanding what`s inside and devising a method of re-fixing. Instead of grinding off would suggest a pipe cutter may be the way to go. Just some thoughts.

Re: Stering Peg
Tom, Might I suggest for a long term investment if a 3D printer is available that a "pattern" is made which would allow when metal printing becomes more reasonably priced worm and pegs reproduced for those concerned with originality.

Re: TC door alignment.
Congratulations Ray. Another step forward. I took the course of buying my new tub from Hudsons and included new doors as I was advised that door fit was a problem. Mine I will admit are perfect. The only problem I`ve encountered is the gap between the end of the running board and the rear wings but ...

Re: MG TC Garage Find Southern California
To me a great opportunity. Wish it was here in the UK. The car`s not the problem it`s the boxes of "bits" to be shipped that for me presents a problem. Would have loved to have got involved much to my wifes` displeasure!!!

Re: Stering Peg
On the assumption that the worm is in fact NOS then the peg is to the wrong specification and personally would return it. Although no engineer what`s the point of two items that are to run in tandem not making full contact. Surely in this particular case stress on a specific point can only lead to p...

Mmm! Blow out. "Always looking on the bright side of life" hadn`t stopped to consider that although my wife has emphasized the effect of heavy lorries on fast roads. More to think about.

Re: towing a small caravan
Cheers Ray. Will look into that. Must confess brakes no problem at the moment. Just concerned about potential fade problems in more "mountainous" areas

Re: towing a small caravan
Hi Ray, Yes that`s the type. Or maybe even a "teardrop" design which are even lighter. If as I intend with more "freedom" regarding Covid 2 to 3 week tours can soon eat into funds relying on B&Bs etc. I realize with potentially hilly roads one with independent brakes would be advised plus possibly a...

towing a small caravan
Has anyone tried or experience towing a caravan with a "T" series? I`ve a 1500TF that I`m exploring the possibilities. Research appears to show that a caravan of gross weight a little over 700 KG should be possible. There are a number of models that could suit our purpose.

Re: 1948 TC convertible top replacement
As a task I`m about to face this is very helpful against what I see as a daunting task. Add the fact that my tub is new the potential difficulties in getting the hood frame fixings right first time. I can see the potential of having numerous screw holes in the body work. How did others go about deal...

Re: MG TA1932 in Germany - Blog - all problems and ...
Well done Franz. That`s what makes are "old" cars so great. With a little patience and thought most problems can be solved. Not like a modern car where just trying to get your hands around the engine is nearly impossible and as to sorting the electronics well for me it`s not even considered.

Re: windshield glass
Being in the UK I can`t economically provide an original taken from a 1948 vehicle however it should be noted that glass has to be cut to accommodate the wiper motor fittings.

Re: windshield glass
I had PM`d you requesting location as I`ve an original admittedly cracked but out of the frame which I had a glazier replicate. It is important to note that the area around the wiper motor is cut to allow motor fixings. You did reply but gave no location which may have allowed a collection/delivery ...

Re: Datsun steering box
Out of curiosity I wonder how many motor companies call backs for safety modifications have to past the scrutiny of the "jobsworth" people who incidentally one must assume past the originally designed item based on a "experts" confirmation.

Re: Ignition coil
Thanks John for that tip. Anyway just back from a round trip of just under 80 miles and it purred all the way. Now a bit more optimistic that the problems solved. If I fancy it I might put the old one back on in a couple of days and see what happens.

Re: Ignition coil
Thank you Steve and Ray. Having "pinched" the new coil off my TC in restoration I set off today to fill up with fuel from my nearest Gulf garage ( apparently their E5 has little or no ethanol although they have to advertize it as E5) 10 minutes from home car died. I though Oh **** not solved the pro...
