Re: Wiper ground wire.

Does it matter which wire goes to which connection on a TC wiper motor? If so without dismantling the motor which wire goes to which connection as fitted to the screen. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks as if the bottom wire goes to the earth connection on the regulator and the top goes to the ...

Re: XPAG Motor

There is one enormous advantage to "doing it oneself" and that is the confidence to use the car and not just leave it in the garage and only visit local shows. Bearing in mind that the more you do yourself then every rattle or strange noise can often be located through your own knowledge so acquired...

Re: Replacement seats in a Tc

I`m in the process of repairing the existing but do feel that if I can get more room it will make life easier getting in and out-especially for my wife who has had a replacement knee which does restrict movement.

Hood fitting to screen

Trying to understand the exact detail design fitting of my new hood to the front timber and screen on my `49 TC. Specifically the area that has the cutaways for the wipers. Currently the material at the front of the hood is a straight edge which I assume tacks along the timber of the hood frame ( ta...

Re: Door Striker plate

I`ve currently fitted some additional washers to provide more rigidity having had to adjust out the striker to get the door to close as tight as possible.

Re: Door Striker plate

The striker plate has at either end of the "threaded shaft" what appears to be a rubber "fitting" which in my case is perished. I assume it`s there to aid vibration etc. Don`t want to remove existing as I`m unable to find replacements.

Door Striker plate

The striker plates on my TC are in good condition apart from the rubber "bushing" which are perished but are not available as separate items. Is anyone aware of a source of bushing that is available that would do the job please.

Hood, frame and windscreen.

Advice needed please. I will shortly be attempting the fitting of the windscreen and hood frame plus obviously the hood. This is all to a new tub on a TC. So far I`ve gleaned that it is advised to have the side screens insitu to help. However I`m puzzling how to ensure that the windscreen sides and ...

When I experimented with chroming if my memory serves me correctly any area that wasn`t to be chromed could be treated with an acetate -for example, for the DIY person, nail varnish.

Re: Handbrake Cross Shaft on TC

Ray, perhaps chrome covered copper plumbing pipe may do? On the other hand if a suitable I,D. copper pipe is available then getting it chromed may also be another idea.
