Re: Horn Button function & originality
There seems to be a very similar Horn Button & Switch at MOSS with some instructions about connection and placement of wires that lead from it.

Horn Button function & originality
Here is the Horn button on the dashboard of MGTC 0820. It has been there since importation in 1976, and have seen buttons identical to this on other MGTCs. Note that it has a large button, letters for "D" and "H" and there is no bulge below the switch. IMG_3706.JPG The next photo of a Horn button se...

Re: history of my tc part 2
The white-wall tired MG in the background of the photo in Krekovich's shop is not Trevor's MGTC. I think this photo was taken at an earlier time when Krek's shop was at another location a few blocks away. Some members of the Kansas City MG Car Club are trying to dig up more history about these Kreko...

Re: history of my tc part 2
Trevor, Saw your MGTC when it was in Jim Krekovich's shop in Kansas City in 1975 to '80 at various times while under restoration. He was located on Central Street in the 1800 block. The building is still there. "Krek" was the best and most artistic MG T series restorer in the United States at that t...

Re: Rear Wing Fitting
There are earlier discussions on this forum about the rear wing outer rim distance from the edge of the running board. Factory drawings show the rear wing wheel well outer rim exactly even with the running board edge. However several original TC's - that I have seen and verified - have the rear wing...

Re: TC Differential
Hope this is an appropriate posting thread to discuss what might go wrong with overhauling a TC differential, and to determine some cause for concern with the overhaul. Thirty Seven years ago, the differential on MGTC0820 came out and underwent inspection and adjustment. No change in crown wheel or ...

"I'm not aware of any replacement frames being made..." ............. About 15 or 20 years ago an outfit in the Northwest US made up about a score of new replacement MGTC frames for retail sale. They were beautiful and most went for sale off market. Saw one that was the last of the production line ...

Here is a photo of the very slight change to the Radiator Stay Tube mounting area that was required on MGTC0820 in order to fit the Hellings air filters. Stay Tube Mounting Bracket Modification.JPG The modification allows the Stay Tube to drop about 1 inch. The mount piece was just a small piece of ...

Re: Steering column support problem,
Ray, Is there any way to get some photos of the underside of the scuttle area where you are working? Hope this photo of the underside of MGTC 0820 can show a little bit that might help. MGTC Under Scuttle Supports.JPG If you want more photos, please ask. Just do not drill any more holes in the wood ...

Re: TC Frame Padding?
Yes, I am sure that this has also been discussed in this forum earlier, but let me venture an attempt here. The mounting pad material used by the factory, between the body tub and the chassis frame, was pre-soaked black felt pads each approximately 3/16" thick with holes for the mounting bolts to pe...

Exactly what does a Panhard Rod do on the front, and what are the advantages?
Seeing numerous previous references in this forum to use of a Panhard Rod on the front axle in conjunction with steering and handling improvements, this post is an attempt to determine the mechanical basis of, and advantages for, installation in our T series Autos. Note that exhaustive rebuilding an...

Re: TC3995 on Copart in San Berdoo
The MGTC3995 "Alfy" definitely deserves better than to be broken for parts, so perhaps also some creative input from observers and members of this forum can help its restoration. The scene of flame spread, that is shown by the burned out cockpit in the photos of TC3995, is so classic of the type of ...

There may be a discussion of the relative merits of some of the multitude of Camshafts and their grinds, and if so, where? Re: Camshaft comprehension
Not sure whether reground camshafts are any good unless they are surface hardened, or "nitrided."
Does the cost of hardening makes the regrind not cost effective?
-- The radiator was given a new core, but maybe some cores are better than others.

Re: Camshaft comprehension
Thank you again for more information. Now beginning to think that this "Old Grind" (from Crane 340-002) might be worthwhile after all and that it, by itself, is not contributing to overheating. However, sure would like to know some more about the durability of the current version of a Crane Cam that...
