Re: copper brake lines

John: Been down your way a number of times for the company when I was in my pre-retirement stage of life. Also, took my better half once for about a month as well. Spent 17 days up in the Snowy Mountains looking for the remains of Ned Kelly and any loot he may have stashed. No luck there! Did the Sn...

Re: copper brake lines

Is this a result of Aussie Politics and Politicians getting involved in something that they know absolutely nothing about? If so, it must have been a slow day in Parliament when they thought it up. Never heard of it happening on any Brit cars here. What do they feel the alternative material is to in...

Wanted: TC Hub, Front preferred but can make a rear hub work

Used and reasonable for TC wheel truing set-up. Located in Illinois.

Not for road use, just good enough to mount the wheel and spin it. Old mating spinner a plus!!

Thanks. Marv TC5141

Re: TC Used Headlight cradles for sale

Depends on which one you're looking for but there is a set on eBay at present (eBay item number: 331729021668) one is OK, the other is pretty badly buggered up , bent, broken and welded. Have a look at those and you might get lucky if one is all you need. $29.00 starting price plus shipping,,, cheap...

Re: TC Used Headlight cradles for sale

Max, I said Abingdon braces were used, I assumed that and don't know it for sure, they usually have the word "used" after a part. Moss offers them as well at $130 each. Moss is not noted for anything other than aftermarket reproductions. I have no idea as to quality of the usual suppliers. Doug Pelt...

Re: TC Used Headlight cradles for sale

Located in Rockford, Illinois, I have posted three pictures. They are straight with no damage nor repairs, they have light surface rust only, needs media blasting and a coat of primer (acid etch). Abingdon Spares has used ones listed at $135 each, I'd sell the pair for $200 plus actual shipping. If ...

Re: TC distributor filling with oil

Hi Murph: I assume it was running a bit, if not a lot, rough! It certainly sounds as if you've got an overfilled sump. It's common with that to have a distributor mist up with oil to the point of fouling the spark so bad that the car will barely run without applying a bit of choke. Check your fill l...

Re: Plating Master Cylinder Tin Can - Pros and Cons

I agree Duncan, my can is not trashed and I have a new M/C to assemble into it. Being that the idea came up over a pint with my plating friend, it seemed like a topic for discussion. Our cars provide lots of side "tangents" to let us wander into the "what-ifs"! I've never been ill at ease with the b...

Re: Painting Cost

Rich I agree 200% with Brian. It all depend what you are looking for and the labor to get to a paintable surface. We had a body off paint job on a MGA which has fewer body items to remove than a TC. Two doors, Boot and Bonnet. Minimal body work was involved and it cost $9,000.00 for labor and materi...

Re: Plating Master Cylinder Tin Can - Pros and Cons

The idea was that the new M/C would be in the bean can properly soldered with a base solder compatible to nickel plating process. I cannot see how .0004" can disrupt the normal action and sealing of the seals nor impede the flow of fluid to and from the can to the cylinder. The surface finish of the...

Plating Master Cylinder Tin Can - Pros and Cons

I've performed a site search and didn't come up with anything on this subject. Might be a bad idea but on the surface, it sounds good. I have a friend in the Electroless Nickel Plating business who said he'd plate my master cylinder tin can. Properly cleaned, which he does, and readied for plating, ...

TC Used Headlight cradles for sale

I have a set of TC Headlight Cradles. slight surface rust discoloration only, will clean up nicely with a media blast and paint of your choice. ( I can do this for you and prime with acid etch primer, if desired @ $40.00.) the pair can be had for $160.00 plus shipping. I'd rather not break them up b...

Has anyone ever made present day technology improvements to that method of making and breaking contacts through a gasoline medium?
