Re: TC master cylinder

Neil: If you haven't already done so, I suggest you have a look at Doug Pelton's 15 minute you tube video on the TC master cylinder, The cylinder, by comparison, to other master cylinders is a very simple device and only offers limited means of inducing air into the fluid flow. The reservoir is run...

Re: "Weep" holr in TC bell housing

Have a competent machine shop do it for you. Take the crank, flywheel and new ring gear then have the crank magnafluxed, turned and balanced for new bearings. Have the shop install a new set of camshaft bearings for you and the camshaft if you have it. Have the flywheel magnafluxed and checked for b...

Re: New Rocker set - a good idea ?

It's common practice to have new bushings installed and reamed to fit the (new) rocker shaft, also have the pads resurfaced by a competent machine shop that does engine work. The pads are profiled, not flat!!!! Good to go....

Re: "Weep" holr in TC bell housing

Yep, You're right Mark. The function of the hole and the big cotter pin (commonly called a rattle pin), is designed to rattle around in the hole to keep it from plugging up with the leaking oil and road grime. Your idea of a drip catch pan has been marketed by someone already and is found with some ...

If you use it and I don't see why you shouldn't, make sure it is Viton or PTFE based material. Buna-N or Ethelene Propylene based materials will not hold up well to gasoline.

Re: TC rear axle oil leak onto brake shoes (yep, again .....

The fill cap on the neck of the diffy has a breather hole in it that must be kept clean. Is it adequate? For normal usage in standard configuration, history would imply that it is. If one wanted to add a breather, the little top hat breathers used on the MGB, Austin Healeys and others would be a goo...
