Re: A Little Car Show Humor
That's easy enough, Steve...I see how it's done...wish I had another car related video to post.

Re: TC 9106
Originality Police? Uhhhh...who cares?
And with a forum of this type they don't even have to comment...just look, turn their nose up and close it.
Of course, on our existing site that's all they have to do too but they nevertheless ALWAYS seem to comment.

I don't mind the frame (bad eyes and all)...gives the site *class*.

Re: TC 9106
I'll try Steve...had computer problems a while back and lost some photos but I'll see what I can resurrect and put in order.
Re: TC 9106
And one more for good measure.
Re: TC 9106
Steve has informed me that larger photos can be posted...here's a try at that.
TC 9106
TC 9106 was a total basket-case. It has an aluminum, home-made (and not made well) body that's a bit too wide at the cowl, an un-numbered (possibly damaged in the past) frame, non-original aluminum firewall, TD engine...but at least it has a TC transmission (or has until I manage to swap it out for ...

Hugh,
If I'm not mistaken you bought that chassis from Gene Beaudoin over in Luling, LA. I know Gene and no, the plate didn't come from him.

Re: chassis No.
Tell you what Mark...I hate orphan cars. I bought a plate off eBay several years ago with a chassis number that doesn't show up among our members. Grind the number off your chassis and I'll send this to you for Christmas. The chassis for the car I'm building doesn't have a number on it but that does...

Re: Alloy XPAG blocks...1500 CC
In every group you're going to have differences of opinion. Be glad that in this one there's only two - those that feel one way about originality and those that feel another. Either group is considered *extreme* by the other - but both groups love their MG's so what difference does it make? Live and...

Re: Datsun brake drums
Well, duh!!! Must have been a *blonde* day for me yesterday. I'd have known that if I'd thought about it for ten seconds. I also have installed the Datsun steering mod on the 49 TC I've been restoring over the past few years. I originally planned to try to bring it back to life as original as possib...

Re: Datsun brake drums
Does anyone have a good source for these brake drums here in the States? And, is there any difference in whether you get the front or rear drums from the 240 Z's, i.e., are both front and rear drums finned? Thanks in advance, Gene

Wolfgang,
Take a look at this site - go on down to the Graham car section - there's an email address where you might be able to get some information.

Good luck,

Re: Side curtain Compartment
Bruce, If I remember from my restoration (still ongoing after eight years - smile) those 4 holes should line up with four holes in your chassis - that's part of the mounting. I also had/have that piece of wood in mine - I think I goofed cause I made it a solid piece of the storage compartment. What ...

Wim, Just did a search on the internet using that name and came up with the following: http://sportscarmarket.com/resource.htm This lists him as: Peter Hageman, Vintage Automobiles, 206/954-1961, fax 425/287-0660, P.O. Re: Steering Conversion
Ray, If this is the modification I think it is, I purchased the conversion kit from Skip Kelsey - it's called the Australian Steering Box Conversion by him - and installed it in my MG TC. It's barely noticeable when you look at it but the difference in the driveability of the car is amazing. It took...

Re: Advice wanted re. TC transmission & rear axle ratio
Carl, I don't think you're biting off too much. I bought a TC to restore and I've tried to do as much as possible myself. My transmission had been open (and laying on a workbench) for six years before I bought the car. I managed to tear it down and put it back in running shape without a whole lot of...
