Re: Tacking strip

Hi Ray, I can confirm that the padded area between the 'out-riggers' and the inner rear wing was indeed bridged by fibre-board. However I've used strips of sticky neoprene sponge (none-absorbent) which works nicely as a anti-rattle (metal against metal joint) material finish. However, for originalit...

Re: SGS Engineering

Hi Steve, I too have searched high and low to find parts not only for my MG's but also for my normal running car; for the house; sports gear etc etc ... and all but if not most items tend to be manufactured as source in the PRC. You don't get over 1,000 billionaires from nothing(US only 700). This i...

Xpag exhaust/inlet manifold heatshields for sale

I have just 3 remaining heatshields to fit the xpag engine as fitted to the MG TB, TC and TD. Hand made by myself based upon designs shown in a few well known T-type books. Not only does it protect against excessive fuel float-chamber evaporation but also protects from fuel droppage onto the exhaust...

be aware that the TA ones are slightly different shape along with locating holes offset Ray. If you can, use the original one, afterall you wont see it again after all the finishings are done.

Re: Rad shell & slats

Having made up 5 radiators in the past few years I can say Ray that you should have done a 1st fit of your slats BEFORE any rechroming while making sure each stud fits into each slat hole, 8 in all I think. So next time do the same as your 1st fit on all your body parts prior to painting. Should al...

Re: TC Frame Padding?

I too have found evidence to confirm that felt was indeed used between body and chassis. But, I cant help but think using felt isn't the right material then nor now as it is likely to absorb moisture and .... rust! Yes, perhaps not a lot, but I'd hate to think all that effort and every time you go t...

Re: UK registration number plate letters/setup

cheers for your replies gentlemen. It just goes to show that not being MG it was indeed up to the local authority or dealership to decide what type of number plate to fit post-war. I have my red TC with pressed silver numbers on black which is ok but did have made the white plastic ones for my green...

UK registration number plate letters/setup

Always been unsure what precisely was the setup of the TC number plates in the 1940's was! i.e. silver or white on black; raised plastic white letters or pressed silver letters? This is perhaps only applicable to those T's in the UK. I suspect they where also made from steel plate and not aluminium ...

you can start with £11k+ for a complete new body tub down to £3k for just the ash frame in bits ... so anything inbetween depending on your budget and or ability to assemble wood and skinning it.
