Norman,
I did the same thing to mine and rotated the peg which was not worn but did not replace the cam. Did you replace the cam in your box? I am curious to know whether it makes much difference to replace the cam or not.

Re: TC steering box
I was alluding to how much free play you might have in the steering wheel before the wheels might start changing direction while driving down a straight road. Looks like it may be awhile before you can tell us that though..................

Re: Rebuilding TC5560
How does it "push heat back into the head"? Does heat run up hill or what? There is a good foot of unwrapped manifold 'tween the head pipe and the head...........although the manifold has been ceramic coated Is there a difference between ceramic coating and fiberglass wrap? The head pipes on my Morg...

Re: Rebuilding TC5560
Herman,
The holder is really quite easy to make and does not have to be perfect as it really is not clearly seen. The exhaust wrapping is fiberglass wrap, does not cover the flex section and the last time I had the engine out, it pretty much fell apart so was removed. I left the lower hole open.

The vintage Duckham's can was apparently supplied as original and I note that Doug Pelton shows it in his catalog. The graphics on many of these old cone top cans were truly marvelous. I collected them for awhile and sold them off but have kept a Castrol can which I think is the best of them all.

The vertical leg is about 9" add another couple of inches for the right angle under the round holder. Bracket is about an inch wide, maybe 1/16" thick, something easy to bend. The wire retainer can be heavy coat hanger wire easily bent to shape. It is one piece looped at the bottom and held to the b...

Re: MGTC transmission removal
I have had the engine out several times without removing the trans. I find it much easier than dealing with the interior items that need to come out. All you need do is remove the bonnet, radiator and shell, the headlamps can stay put, remove the bell housing bolts, starter, (likely you will have to...

Re: Rebuilding TC5560
Herman, My car was probably worse than yours, had to build and skin an entirely new tub. Keep in mind that the chassis does flex a bit with the engine and gearbox sitting in it and with the wheels on the ground, so what you get now may not be exactly what you will have them. Obviously the time for d...

Re: Brake adjustment question
Take a look also at the pegs on the brake shoe that contact the adjuster. Sometimes these are worn or may not be tight in the shoe or bent slightly. Thus being too far away from the adjuster.

Re: Leaking Fuel Tank
Before you throw a tank away and spend big bucks for a new one, determine where it is leaking as suggested. Most of the time they aren't rusted out at the bottom; the sender is leaking, a seam is leaking, or the spot welded feet may have finally fatigued and are seeping. A good radiator shop can fix...

Re: 19 x475 tyres
Most use 4.50 x 19 as the larger size may be a bit difficult to fit at the rear depending upon how the rear wing is positioned. I did not find the larger size cheaper from the suppliers I looked at in the U.S. some years ago. The proper size tire also looks right. There is always a debate about powd...

Re: Front tire shimmies
All good advice and I would certainly take a look at how true the wheels actually are. If they are well out of true, it would certainly be a good idea to spend some time getting them back into shape. Additionally proper toe in will make the car wander a lot less, adding a bit more toe was the single...

Re: door timbers
If the timbers you purchased lack the proper contours needed to fit the shape of the doors or body as it was designed, I would certainly agree. I have visited Craig's shop and have seen a body tub or two during construction and they all looked excellent, this well after I bought timbers from Moss. I...
