Re: TC front engine plate and accelerator wanted
Hi Alex and welcome to the forum. I too am i need of a reasonable xpag font engine plate. What I may say is that the accelerator assembly is different between the TA/TB and the TC, which is referenceable to the holes in the bulkhead. The TA had Luvax rear shockers which hard to find I'm told. There ...

Re: Removing the oil pump
I'm assuming youre both are removing a pump with the engine out? If not, may I pose the question on how best to remove a oil-pump with the engine in situ? Limited space to remove the 8 long bolts due to close proximity to n/s chassis rail

Re: Amal Latch Painted?
Hi Tim, I'm pretty sure nothing would have been painted after assembly unless scratches prior to delivery were evident. Think I've seen a pre-war film showing the MG's being sprayed even when complete. Such things as latches and exposed nuts/bolts and screws would'nt have been painted generally, eit...

Re: shiny body bolts
the general consensus I understand was that no shiny bolts/nuts were used as that would have been an unnecessary cost waste. Often heads were painted (sprayed)over to finish off imperfections. I suspect there wasn't even one chromed nut or bolt other than studs here and there. Visually if you have n...

Re: VW steering box conversion
Hi ya Jddevel - Steve Baker does have a number of brilliant parts he sells, but the VW steering cenversion isnt one of them. The chap who does them can be found here ... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-MG-T-TYPE-TC-TB-TA-Steering-box-conversion-XPAG/154231659491?hash=item23e8ec5be3:g:p1QAAOSwE21d...
Re: TC tyres
my pennies worth ... having bought some 25+ tyres in the past 5 years for my F2, D-type and 3 TC's I feel I can assess things looking back. Firstly, because of the design and shape I dont find the feel the look nor the ride of Blockleys on TC's are right, too spindly. They are spot on though for the...

Hi Tim, having rebuilt a number recently, may I ask if there are/where also 4 holes in the chromed upright too? Both sides? Can/could have been modified to receive a none standard mirror bracket if its just the nearside! If you did have 4 holes in the chrome bit did you fill it before chroming? 3 ho...

Nov 25th; Still looking for a set of these, please please anyone have any spare? August: I'm in real need of 4 rear shackle brackets, the ones that look like a figure 9 or lollipop shape and support the spring to the chassis. Quite happy to purchase worldwide if shipping cost isn't going to...

If the rad to the shell is fitted properly there NO room for movement what so ever. Everything moves or nothing at all.

hi jddevel, the problem is that know-one knows where you live! your profile ought to be updated so we can all make a judgement to whether its a viable item to buy. Just saying you're in the UK or US is all that's needed. cheers Chris

if you intend to service your original Girling shock absorbers, front and back then yes for sure. They are blinking difficult to insert the new rubbers, along with the arm links. This is the only thing I reckon you'll need it for though!

Re: chassis font size and name?
umm!, interesting thoughts Graeme, I really was only interested in what the font name was that they used, it must have been something as the numbers do have their own distinct look. I suppose it's like the brass plates that have the chassis and the engine numbers/letters ... what font /size where th...

Wanted - rear outer TB wings (TC ones too)
For a fellow T-typer I am searching for a pair of rear MG TB wings; probably the same as TA but I sure they different to TC ones. Any help in sourcing new or old ones would be appreciated thank you.
Personally, I'd be interested in a pair of TC rear wings too?

chassis font size and name?
I've always been intrigued to know what the font 'name' is that is stamped on the n/s chassis; does anyone know? If there wasn't a name then do we know what replicates it fairly similarly?

Re: charging or not
Thanks for that Norman, i will try that. I can see from the ammeter that the petrol pump click discharges a few amps, but I see no charge going in when revved, so I suspect the test suggested wont show any difference .... being LED bulbs still work for the test?
