Re: Supercharger Carburation Issue

Is your needle valve shutting of properly when engine running? Sounds like you are within range of fuel height below bridge, but you could go another 1/16" lower? Also important to check "jet drop." Forget about fork setting and number of flats. (Though 9 flats sounds close) Set it up according to t...

The low fuel warning light was and is very practical. It tells you when you have an hour of driving left to find a fueling station.

Re: TC water temperature guage

Considering that the TC did not come with any temp gauge, any temp gauge would be aftermarket. The stock radiator does have a place for a (aftermarket) probe to be installed, and is a suitable enough location -- unless you are experiencing significant coolant loss. Usually a bourdan type mechanical ...

Re: TC water temperature guage

Not sure why the interest in aftermarket temp gauges on a TC. I have never seen a coolant temp higher than 180F on a long & hard drive when ambient temps were well above 100F. Highest temp I have ever seen with infrared heat gun during or after a long hard drive was 150F for engine oil and 130F for ...

Re: MG TA1932 in Germany - Blog - all problems and ...

Franz- If the TA front hubs are like the TC front hubs, they have a habit of wearing out where the inner bearing fits into the hub. You need to check for play of the inner bearing after it is pressed in. When the front hubs are worn like that, nothing will fix it properly, except for replacent of th...

Re: Removing rear wheels

I keep a piece of wood with a round hole through it in the TC. For jacking from under the differential. To protect the bottom drain plug. Works wonders.

Re: Removing rear wheels

Rob, it was not said there was a difference between chassis and frame. Robert was having troubles removing wheels with the oversized tires. Appears he had jacked from under the diff, and was wondering if it would be easier to remove the wheels if he instead jacked from the chassis rail on one side. ...

They could well be factory original, and from a bent donor car. Agree that getting it red hot and bending may be possible, using well applied leverage.

Re: Bowden Cable Routing TA/TB

I doubt there were any clips within the cockpit for the tach or speedo cables. Looking under the TC dash, the speedo cable is draped over the "coat hanger" before entering the instrument, and the tach cable is draped through the steering column bracket before entering the instrument. No need for any...

Re: Speed and performance with different Crown & Pinion

There are online calculators for tire size, rear end ratio, RPM and MPH that seem to come and go. Here is one: https://purperformance.com/p-29669-rpm-calculator.html I run a stock 5.125:1 rear end and I find my stock speedometer is dead on accurate at all speeds with the (30" dia) Model A tires, acc...

If you can get a 2+ inch thick fan between the front of the stock sized radiator and the louvres you are a magician.

On the regulator, in place of the two 35amp old style Lucas fuses, I have been running SFE14 fuses in the TC. Never blown one.

Numerous articles on conversion etc can be found on internet. Here is one: https://triumphtr6.info/Manuali/fuses.pdf

Of course you could also just eliminate the standard fan and install an electric fan to suck air in- for around town. Up against the back of the radiator. Some prefer a simple on/off switch to a thermostatically controlled setup.

Castrol Red Rubber Grease or equivalent would be ideal. Made from non-petroleum (vegetable) oils, you will have some around if you rebuild your own brake system components.

Re: H2 carb float bowl orientation

As Steve mentioned there are a lot of variables, like a shutoff valve that is too long in length. Another problem with the valve can be not using a gasket or using too thick a gasket. Does it call for a gasket? And of course the forks can get all bent into odd shapes. I found the correct length orig...
