My car has had a sag in the drivers side rear spring for as long as I have had the car.
This is my simple fix but only lasts a few days, especially over this festive season.

Re: door striker plate.

How satisfying it is to hear the sound of CLINK when one shuts the door now. Did what was advised regarding alignment of the door striker . I had to lower it about 5mm on scuttle timber. My door now closes unassisted so hope should give many more years of service .I still have my passenger door to p...

G,day folks ,just wondering what the correct method was to get door mechanism to align with the door lock. My passenger side has been rebated but after fitting new door timber and replacing a broken plate on the drivers side find that it does not locate the last locating hole . With the door trim of...

Excelsior tyres

G,day.A while back someone was enquiring about original Dunlop tyres and was mentioned that Exelsior were the same. This is all that is available over here in Oz. I was going to fit 19x4.75 as cheaper as common to more cars but anyway stuck with original size. I first took them to a motorcycle shop ...

Re: 19 x475 tyres

thanks.I don't think TC,s are made for hard cornering either .Loved my old Riley 21/2 ltr with radial 16x205r. Point the bonnet where ever you wanted and put your foot down ,not so the TC .Hit a bump in the road and bounce to the left or right . My tyres are possibly a bit hard as no idea how old so...

Re: TC ammeter wiring

From memory I think should be Brown in one side from regulator and Brown white the other which would feed ignition ,might be wrong as still at work but which ever way you connect if wrong will read backwards ,thats all.will check tonight

19 x475 tyres

G ,day folks.has any one used 19 x475 size tyres The reason I ask is that one of the few suppliers advised that many TC owners use them and that they are cheaper by 20 %. How does this size affect diff should one get a flat tyre or would it be similar to constantly going around a gradual bend? My cu...

door timbers

G,day ,Just wondering has any one had much experience with the Timbers supplied by Moss ? At sometime in my cars life some one has replaced the body and door timbers. The door timbers are not cut to the standard that the factory fitted, especially the corner joins at the bottom but looks like the to...

Re: Rear main leaking

Like all T series ,mine leaks like any other British car of that era. The rest of the motor is bone dry. My solution was to fita catch tray underneath as motor does not consume any oil and sounds healthy, even after 30 yrs. I must admit does iratate me but thought of disturbing an otherwise healthy m...

Re: Long distance touring

I think front side screens are useless and whats worse is they make it nearly impossible to get in or out.I only use for when car parked out in the rain as when driving not required. As for hot weather my car runs average 75 deg when out side averages 25-30 C and goes up by slightly above that so ex...

Re: Long distance touring

G,day Pete. Firstly I would take a container of water and first aid kit and Sun Block +30 or 50. Maybe could purchase a new clean 5ltr fuel container for water and if needed could be used for fuel as Illegal to fill certain type plastic containers It is suprising how quickly one can get burnt from t...

Re: Installng Moss leather seat kts

You are so correct in screwing trim rather than tacking. I did this when making door trims for my MG YT several years back as did not like the idea of nailing trim on . Being a Y Tourer meant was on my own Jack as far as trim went so was able to copy seats as under covers was original leather .As fo...

Re: rear diff ratios

G,day Steve ,My car has Datsun steering and steers straight and have had stub axles crack tested for piece of mind .On a good smooth road have had run at that rev range but when you see a huge Kenworth or Mack hurtling towards you on single lane Highway it,s time to slow down or risk being blown off...

Re: rear diff ratios

In all honesty I would not want to travel much faster than 55 mph [90kph] in my TC and guess it is reving at about 3500 or in that vicinity. I have no idea how mine compares to a standard TC as my diff is not original but looks identical to TD ,TF or similar with modified ends to suit my TC [That's ...

Re: Installng Moss leather seat kts

another picture of seat bottoms. I measured height both sides back and front to keep level and did the same for matching seat. Make sure leather faces outside around bottom of seat. Just pull cover taught but not to tight and put just enough wadding on the sides so as not to look like a rice pudding...

Re: Installng Moss leather seat kts

You may of noticed that I folded tops over 45 degree on corner and lined backing piece to finish exact in line removing piping inside at ends a fraction and glued ends together, You can see rear cut out to allow seat to hit floor and was too low. The moss Kit would not allow for piping to follow arc...
