Re: Lucas fog lamps
Anders Clausager states in his book 'Original MG T series' that the fog lamp was changed in 1948 from a Lucas FT27 to the SFT462 from TC/4739 on. Clausager doesn't specify when the SFT 462 glass changed from the 'stepped reflector' to the ribbed design.

Re: Front wing stays
When you refer to the 'stays' do you mean the braces mounted off the chassis or the headlamp mounting brackets tying the wing to the radiator tie bracket? When fitting new wings to my TC the profile of the foot of the headlamp bracket was a very poor fit against the wing profile. By swapping the rig...

Re: XPAG Motor
Back in 1975 I had my XPAG block bored and sleeved back to standard and the crank reground to -.040" by North Wilts Engineering in Swindon - a firm long defunct now I'm afraid. I reassembled the engine with all new parts, ran it up successfully and then forgot about it for 40 years. In 2015 I picked...

.....does this help?Re: MGTC 6566
I can't help with history but now your car is back in the UK your fog lamp and horn should be transposed.

Re: TC bonnet needed
It may be apocryphal, but I remember hearing there was a man near the end of some assembly-line (T-series? Morgan?) with a big pair of tin-snips, to do final trimming-adjustments to the bonnets. Tom Lange Apocryphal or not, this tale has passed into MG folklore. Just out of interest I rebuilt my TC...

Re: Door Striker plate
I had a similar problem with a door snubber on a different car. I pushed out the central part and removed the decayed rubber. After cleaning up I suspended the centre back inside the body and injected High Modulus Black RTV into the cavity originally occupied by the rubber. A fiddly job but so far i...

Re: TC door alignment.
If you don't remember seeing the problem when you first got the new body it's possibly become distorted after fitting to the chassis. As a free standing tub the body is still very flexible. Is the door catching the body towards the top? If so it's possible the metal frame is not sitting true on the ...

Re: Low fuel lamp
The lamp only shows FUEL when illuminated, when not lit it appears uniform green. Have you checked it lit?
If it doesn't show FUEL when lit, short of buying a new unit I can't think how you'd repair it.

Re: TC bell housings
Your upper picture shows a TC bell housing and the lower a later TD/TF unit. Certainly the clutch cross shaft boss on the TC was a notorious weak spot with many of them cracking in service - as the one in your picture appears to have done. Mine suffered the same fate and was subsequently repaired an...

Re: Grease fitting that I have not seen before
The TC lubrication chart recommends Duckhams "ZNOL" KG grease as the handbrake cable lubricant.
I don't know what the modern equivalent is but I'm presuming it's a light grease.

Re: TC Dashboard chrome beading.
It was screwed on. Abingdon Spares supply a screw kit of 13 c's'k head screws for the top and 7 round head screws for the bottom. If this was the original fixing you'll have 20 holes to drill.

Re: Unusual aluminum valve cover for TC
.......... and the original style MG alloy covers can be bought new from most retailers. I did actually buy one of the repro 'original' style covers but was very unimpressed with the quality so sent it back. Some time later a genuine pre-war (TB) cover came up on eBay. I'm not sure anyone realised ...
