Need help with gauge needles
For my TC Q Special race car restoration. I like the style of the new 52mm fuel gauge from Smith. I have 4 gauges for the dash in the same size/style. I hate the 80's style plastic needle and would like to find something like the needle shown on the oil press gauge. Smith (Caerbont Mfg) was no help....

Recommenation for an SU carb fro supercharged 1250
I'm in need of a recommendation. I've got a TC with the supercharger mounted in front of the radiator.
What SU should I be looking for? Model, capacity, high volume, etc?
Thanks

Do TC frames sit level?
I'd like to work on my frame at the proper attitude. I got it as a basket case and haven't got the foggiest idea if it sits level, or if it's nose up, by how much. I can tell you the TD's down to the mm, but the TC's a different animal. Aside from the front hump, does the frame at the cockpit area s...

Re: Drive shaft question.
Mitch, I have had my TC up on stands for the past couple of days, chasing some oil leaks from the diff. Lowered it to the ground and then read your post! To the best of my ability with very difficult access, I got 122cm (44 inches) in situ. So i am guessing it is the 43" compressed one. If no-one e...

Re: Drive shaft question.
They normally do, but I got 2 with the car and have an MGA shaft. I've got 3, no need to buy a 4th.Tom Lange, MGT Repair wrote:I'm surprised the Hi-Gear kit didn't come with a drive-shaft.

Drive shaft question.
My basket case MGTC came with 2 driveshafts. I have to have one shortened to fit between the original rear and the new 5 spd. I can use either one, I'd like to pass along something that someone needs it as-is rather than alter it. Either will be fine in my car as the flanges appear to be identical. ...

Re: Rear spring top plate - removal
Good enough. It'll come off then. I was afraid I was going to go to battle with a rivet.

Rear spring top plate - removal
Before I wreck something... is it advisable to remove the rear spring top plate, or, if the threads are in good shape, leave it alone? Is this riveted to the rear axle?

Re: TC parking brake handle - removing stuck release rod
Thanks Duncan. I forgot about AS. It's been soaking with PB Blaster for 4 months. A little gentle twisting at the top threads has done nothing. I'm pretty sure it'll either snap or the threads will be useless. I've been down holes like this before, I'm thinking I'll be cutting the whole shebang clos...

TC parking brake handle - removing stuck release rod
Restoring a '48, TC6287. Disassembled in 1977, I bought as a basket case last year missing its body. Steve Baker is finishing up a Special body for me with all the trimmings. I'm breaking the chassis down for paint and have found that the rod through the parking brake handle is seized. Aside from th...
