First, go to the TD/TF pages; this is for pre-war and TC cars. There is MUCH there in the archives on rebuilding the front suspension for TD/TF cars.

Then, look over your entire front suspension for other perished rubber - if the rebound rubbers are bad chances are 89% the pivot bushings and the seals are also bad. Complete front end rebuild time, including (probably) new bushings and tubes in the links, as well as the rubber parts - order everything from Abingdon Spares (better quality rubber). Look at your rebound rubbers and see if there a 1/2" aluminum spacer under the rebound rubber. If not, also order 2 spacers and 4 longer bolts from AS.

Then come back and we will tell you how to rebuild the front suspension.

Thanks for that Tom. Actually imported the car from the US to the UK as a unfinished restore with wire wheel conversion. Have converted to RHD so obviously track rod ends renewed otherwise all else seems in order-at present apart from cracking to nearside (as now) and separation of part of rubber from metal on the ofside (as now). With all the other work previously completed not sure why the bump stops weren`t renewed.

I did not realize you were in the UK. My Abingdon Spares recommendation has little point for you.

To install the rebound rubbers you will need to lift the suspension off the rubbers, by putting a jack on the bottom of the suspension, as far towards the outside of the car as possible. That will lift things enough so that you can remove the three fasteners and replace the rubber. Do note that all new rubbers need the aluminum spacer, so if you don't have them, you will need them, along with longer bolts.
