I believe the screws are 4BA, 1/4" long.

They are indeed 4BA, with slotted hexagon heads. Originally they had little tab washers with an ear bent up to stop them loosening. I know this because I have an unused ST1 switch in its Lucas box, with a little packet of screws & tabs.
The thing about BA is they were not originally British at all, but a Swiss Metric watchmakers thread! Because of this, 0BA, the largest, is exactly the same diameter & pitch as M6.

OK I've bought 2BA bolts and their too big. Maybe my starter is not original but I ordered 2 and 1. Well see when they get here.

Well My BA 1 and 0 were too big. And this proves it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_A ... rew_thread

I'll try American sizes.

Roger, Sure could use them. Thought I could buy what I needed. But I'm failing at that.

If you could Please send me 2 two of the screws.
