The float arm on my petrol tank sender has siezed. It would obviously help if advice from anyone else who had the problem could advise how did they freed it off?

I have never had that problem, but suggest you remove it and apply penetrating oil or WD40 while gently working the arm. There are many other solvents you could use, such as acetone or alcohol.

Thanks Roger. All done thanks to WD40 and wiggling the arm. Aluminium had oxodized jamming the arm. Possibly occured during previous owners long term lay-up.
