outer body irons, TA v TC?

does anyone know if there are any differences between the TA and TC outer body irons please? ... or body chassis frame if you like! Why I ask is that I have 4 pairs with one pair subtly different ...

The late TA fenders, as well as all TB, are interchangeable with the early TC fenders.
So the belief is that the body irons would also be the same

I don't have the answer, but the TA body is 1.5" narrower than the TC so it's possible that there are differences.

The "Outer Body Irons" are also described as "Frame Rails."
For the TA TB TC they are all the same part number and they are interchangeable.
What makes the TC cockpit wider (by as little as 1-1/2," but the factory said more) is basically the shape of the bottom of the wooden "Hinge Pillar" at its joint with the wooden main side rail at the bottom.
With the TA and TB this joint is square so that the hinge pillars go upward exactly vertically.
With the TC the notch out for the joint in the bottom main side rail is still vertical but the notch in the bottom of the hinge pillar is scarfed with a slight degree of taper so that the hinge pillar tips outward.
So at the top of the hinge pillar becomes the distance which gives the greater shoulder room for the TC.
There are a few other minor differences in the body timbers of the TA and the TC - but very few.
No difference in the Outer Body Irons or Frame Rails.
