TF speedometer

Post by jddevel » Wed Nov 14, 2018 1:53 am

Advice please. Is there a common fault with the TF speedometer which causes the mileage mechanism not to register. Is it just "worn cogs"?

Me thinks you've answered your own question, Time to send it off for resto unless you can live without the odometer.

I sort of agree Marv but part of the enjoyment of our ownership of the our MGs is delving into these problems and where possible solving them ourselves.

There's a little arm that come up and grabs the teeth. It could be gummed up. No way to know unless you open it up. This is assuming you've fiddled with the reset knob first, to make sure it isn't sticking.
