TC Engine parts wanted

Post by Abner1601 » Wed Jul 01, 2020 5:19 pm

I am putting together from a basket, a 49 TC and am in need of a set of .080 oversized pistons. I would also like to obtain a supercharger for my car if anyone has one that they would like to part with. Thank You. Alan Willison olcaralan@gmail.com

Perhaps you're looking for a vintage one, but in case you haven't seen their offerings yet, Moss Motors sells a kit as does Tom Lange. They aren't chap of course.

Just a thought from someone rebuilding a TC. If you are spending a good deal of both time and money- as will happen, on your car perhaps consider sleeving back to standard giving both availability and a potential longer life of the engine.

I'm in the middle of restoring my TC XPAG engine. +.080 pistons are available but for some reason they seem to be way more expensive that +.060 or +.100. My engine was +.060 but the bores were scratched so I ended up having it rebored to +100 and it seems fine (to look at, I only got the block back yesterday). Sherrells book claims that you can go to +.120 but there have been reports of variations in the casting process meaning that some blocks go through to water at that. When I eventually need to rebuild mine again I'll probably sleeve and return to stock
