Need Lucas RF91 Voltage Regulator withdate prior to May 1946

Post by timberstone » Mon Dec 24, 2018 10:34 am

Please help find any RF91 voltage regulator that will work in MGTC created in May 1946.
At some unknown time in the past, the original RF91 was swapped out for an RF95 model.
Now since a replacement is needed, would like to stick with an original model RF91.
If anyone knows whether a 6 volt version of the RF91 can be adapted to 12 volts, then please advise because there may be a 6 volt version to be obtained on well known auction site at reasonable cost.
If you have a 12 volt RF91, then please advise cost and delivery details.
Thank you, Robert Griffey Kansas City

According to Mike Sherril the internals from the later type can by tans planted into the early type so it should be relatively easy to make a 6v into a 12v unit

Thanks for confirming, by way of MS, ( -- need to get his book!) what I guessed about the 6V to 12V conversion.
Since I recently found an RF91 in 6 volts, I do not need the 12V version now.
