I purchased this car in 1958.  In its present specification, the car is one of three similar engined MGTC Specials which competed in Australia in the 1960's. The car is now detuned (but can still achieve 100mph and cover the standing 1/4 mile in 16.4 seconds) and road registered, but still occasionally competes in the less strenuous events  (the driver is 73).
