I have had the car since 1966.  It was the second car that I ever bought and I was not put off by the fact that the brakes had failed or that the engine smoked badly.  New brake seals and the first of three subsequent engine rebuilds followed and the foolishness of youth enabled me to ignore the state of the bodywork and the lack of a functioning hood as I used it as my everday car, winter and summer, for the next five or six years.  A fifteen year gap followed where it sat rotting in a garage almost forgotten until I eventually started a rather protracted rebuild which eventually saw the car on the road again in the early nineties.  Since then it gets used in the summer when it can be guaranteed to put a smile on my face and ask why I don't use it more.
