In June of this year our dream of owning an MGTC came true. After following-up on many leads and traveling across various parts of the U.S and Canada (not to mention a global web search) we finally found an MGTC that is in excellent original condition...only 18,919 miles on it (documentation available to verify). The MG was located only 2 hours from our home in a small northern Ontario town of Collingwood (ski country for us Canucks). The TC#5911 was being sold by an elderly widow three months after her husband's death. Her husband was the second owner of the car and had it in storage since 1964, the TC was still sporting the 1964 plates when we purchased it. The brakes or course need rebuilding and the car needs a thorough cleaning, oiling etc. etc. All the original documentation dating back to 1956 when he purchased the TC for $650.00 is all intact. The MG is black with a black top and side curtains and red interior which was restored in 1964 before going into storage. My original intent was to buy the car and store it until retirement, at which time I would dismantle it and do a complete restoration. However, once in our possession it was difficult to just look at it and not drive it...so, a mechanical restoration and a quick body clean-up is underway. The TC should be ready for the spring of 2002.
