MG TA internal engine parts

I recently purchased a 1938 MG TA with a seized engine. I wish to rebuild it myself, but I do not know where to buy parts for it. Things like crankshafts, pistons and rods seem to be difficult to find new. Are there any websites that cater to the TA (engine parts and convertible top vinyl and frame) in the United States or any other location.

Doug Pelton with "From the frame up" in AZ seems to have pistons and rods and some other internal engine parts for the TA. I do not see a crankshaft. The online catalog has gotten easier to use, and you can filter to only include TA items in each catagory.

You are right on the pistons. They do list rods and +020 and +040 rings as in stock. There are some TA people here.

When rebuilding an old motor (not MG) years ago, I found it was cheaper to have custom pistons made then buying from the usual vendors.

Ed is correct and I have used Wiseco up in Mentor previously, not too far from you.

Until you tear down the engine, you won't know why it seized: the pistons & rods might be OK. It is probably wise to replace the rings, and lightly hone the bores. If the white-metal bearings are suspect and you have to replace them, others in the States will be able to tell you where to get these done. The crankshaft might be OK, but have it crack-tested.

I can supply any bolts & studs for the MPJG, although Doug Pelton might well have some.
