guide pins for Moss dif pinion cap

I'm new to mg t-abc...
ive had my 49 TC exu for about 10 years, and have gotten to the point i needed to change the pinion cap.
no problem... using the Moss upgrade ... unfortunately the two guide pins are not reusable.
does any one know of a source of those guide pins ?
no luck with Moss,(the photo of the screw is wrong #34)& FTFU...

Welcome! Can you post a photo of the issue? I don't recall ever seeing pins at the cap, just four nuts to remove the housing, and the two aforementioned screws to remove the cap. Once the four nuts are removed, the assembly is extracted and then the two screws are removed from behind, which allows the cap to be removed from the pinion housing.

#34 should be screws. The carrier all comes out as a unit. Cannot just replace cap/seal without removing the whole unit.

The pinion bearings are a maintenance item, and when using the original scroll seal cap one of the first symptoms of worn bearings would be notable leaking past the cap "seal."

A pic of the carrier ready to go back in, and a pic of the 74 year old scroll seal still in good condition, because the bearings never got bad enough to cause the rotating parts to wipe out the scrolls.

Yes, once it's unbolted, you can drop the shaft out of the way

My TA diff also has screws to jack it apart.
Unfortunately not so lucky on the ball bearings. Cage destroyed and a couple of the balls split in halves.

Looks like bronze bearing cages, as was original. They are known to do that when they get old. My last project TC came with the same issue, and unfortunately it had blown the diff apart. The gears and central housing were all wrecked.

up date:
got the pinion housing separated... with effort ... ( found permatex aircraft? gasket sealer, the hard stuff ) on the matting service. also under the pinion cap.
now cleaning & awaiting parts...
? front pinion bearing . does the double row ball cage care witch side is out ?
? blue hylomar or permatex ultra gray or other ... on shim pack & pinion cap & pinion housing etc ?
? recommendations for work shop manual ( i have Bentley )

What double row ball bearing will you be using?

I may have used a light dose of Hylomar blue on the flat part of the cap where the six holes are. You don't want any squeezing out and getting to where the bearing is, especially if you use silicone sealant (God forbid). I used nothing on the re-used shim pack. Some grease or oil on carrier prior to re-insertion...

I don't normally use sealer at all, and haven't noticed any leaks. But the rest of the car leaks so much I might not notice...
