Travelling in the EU from 2025

Post by jddevel » Sat Jan 13, 2024 1:48 am

For those of you who like me like to travel to Europe in their cars I have today received the following notification regarding visas required in Europe. ADMITEDLY this doesn`t apply until 2025 but for me early notification of changes and requirements is helpful. There has been some publicity about passport problems on holiday airline flights and so this may be another situation one needs to be aware of. That along with the French Grey Card (ULEZ exempt type requirement). Link at

Please discuss any problems that might be encountered while driving in France with an MGTC registered in the United States.

Plan this year to ship MGTC from US to England, then ferry across the channel.
Will there be an "import duty" when entering the EU as tourists to drive around Southern France?
-- What other bureaucracy might be encountered while driving around?

(Also any pointers on getting required insurance documentation will be appreciated, also.)
