Re: Disassembling the Amp meter

Yes, you’ll need to pry the four tabs up very carefully, just enough to allow the Bakelite body to slide out of the bezel. Take care to slide the dial and glass out with the body, or you risk bending the needle. I found replacing the green plastic strip (acetate?) to be a challenge.

Re: TA Handbrake Shaft Levers

Hi Rob, The welds are from the factory. I had to grind down the weld on one of the crank levers and remove it in order to remove the handle for re-chroming, and then re-weld it. I used the pin to align the crank lever when re-welding it. The crank levers should be at the same angle, and line up. Bill

Re: 1948 MGTC

Rob,
I can highly recommend Tom Wilson. His company is called Kimber Creek, Ltd. He made up the interior for my TA, and it is absolutely beautiful. The level of detail and craftsmanship is remarkable, and the price reflects that, but well worth it IMO.

Re: TA Spare Tire Mounting Bracket

Rob,
Here are a couple pictures of the spare tire mounting bracket from my TA for comparison. It appears that the center tube on my mount exits straight out of the mount and then angles forward about half way down. Whereas your center tube seems to be bent into more of an S shape?
