I have made a slow running device for our TC. Its just a lever at the carb shaft that is driven by the original cable. Made it of brass. If you want, I can take a photo.

So, why not install a longer dufferential?
Will cure the too short first, help lower turns at high speeds and keep the wonderful feeling of the original gearbox. Plus costs a lot less.
