The dash screw knob came off the slow idle cable. I can not see how it is attached. Is it a Set screw? Ball?

Do not recall, but might just be solder.

Re: Slow idle cable dash knob
It's just a ball. One side of the hole is larger than the other, right? The ball was dropped in, then the cable fed through, and it holds the ball in against the smaller hole. There should be a larger knob or half ball on the end of the cable inside the Bakelite knob than keeps the cable from coming out.
I think the idea of the ball was to keep you from unscrewing the knob too far out. But mine comes out, so I may be wrong there.

Re: Slow idle cable dash knob
You're ok, the knob just unscrewed from its threads.
See the hex head? Take a wrench and unscrew the hex. That's where your slow running adjustment is supposed to happen.
Hold the hex and tighten the knob against it.
